Set Up Your Digital Shopfloor

🔹 Overview

Before creating your first work instructions, you’ll need to set up your workspace in Setago. This step helps you map out your shopfloor, workstations, and assigned hardware for a structured and organized workflow.

🔀 Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1️⃣ Access the Workspace Management Page
  1. Log in to Setago.
  2. Navigate to Management in the left menu.
  3. Switch to Working Areas in the tab.
  4. Here, you can create and organize work areas and workstations.

Step 2️⃣ Create a New Work Area

  1. Click “Create Working Area” to create a new section of your shopfloor.
  2. Name your work area (e.g., "Assembly Line 1" or "Quality Check Zone").
  3. (Optional) Add an external ID to match the workstation with your own ID, for example from your ERP system.


📌 Working areas allow you to set-up a digital depiction of your physical shopfloor. It makes it easier to distribute specific steps of an instruction to working areas/ work stations.

Step 3️⃣ Add Workstations to Your Work Area

  1. Click on your new working area
  2. Click “Create Working Area.”
  3. Name the workstation (e.g., "Station 10 – Assembly").
  4. Select the parent working area.
  5. If no parent working area is selected, the work station can be moved into different working areas by drag-and-drop afterwards.


📌 Work areas help separate different production processes.
E.g. For Step 2 of an instruction a screwdriver is needed. The screwdriver is only available in workstation 2. This helps separate instruction processes into different physical work stations.

Step 4️⃣ Assign Users to Work Areas (Optional)

  1. Unfold the "Assigned users" card.
  2. Assign team members to specific work areas or work stations based on their role.
  3. Users will only be able to execute instructions within their assigned working areas/ work stations.
  4. Users will only see work instructions relevant to their assigned workspace.


📌 This is useful for companies with separate departments, ensuring the right people see the right instructions on the right working stations.
