📖 Create Your First Work Instruction

Work instructions guide workers through structured, step-by-step tasks to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.

✅ Automate steps with smart conditions, variant selection, and device triggers

Using the Work Instruction Editor, you can create, manage, and optimize instructions tailored to your workstations, product variants, and production flows.

Step 1️⃣ Create a New Work Instruction

1. Navigate to Management > Work Instruction
2. Click "New Work Instruction"
3. Enter:
   
   • Instruction Name (e.g., "PCB Assembly")
   • External ID (optional, for barcode scanning)
   • Instruction image (optional, workers can identify which product they will be producing, before beginning the instruction)
   
   
4. Click Save

📌 Tip: Use an External ID (e.g., product number) so workers can scan a barcode to find the instruction instantly.

Step 2️⃣ Add Steps to the Instruction

Work instructions consist of multiple steps. Each step contains text, media, and interactive elements.

1. Open the Work Instruction Editor
2. Click the "+" (Add Step) button
3. Name the step (e.g., "Attach RFID Module")
4. Add details:
   
   • Description: Explain the task clearly
   • Images/Videos: Upload from the Media Directory
   • Articles: Link required materials from the Element Directory
   • Warnings: Highlight important safety or quality notes
   
   
5. Click Save

📌 Tip: Use short, action-driven descriptions (e.g., "Insert screw A into hole B and tighten to 3Nm").

Step 3️⃣ Configure Variants and Smart Conditions (Optional)

You can automate workflow logic using conditions, triggers, and variant rules.

Example:

• IF the workstation is "Assembly Line 2", THEN show Step 3
• IF the serial number is "X", THEN skip to Step 5

• IF Variant B is selected only execute Steps 1, 3, 5, 6, 8

Once all steps are configured, review the instruction.

1. Click "Demo" to test the step sequence
2. Set the instruction Active for workers to access
3. Click "Save"

📌 Tip: Use preview mode to simulate different variants before publishing.
