📖 Integrate Barcode Scanners to Find and Present Material

Integrating barcode scanners allows workers to search for articles based on their article number or article name easily.

To find the right article a barcode is linked to the article by using the article number field.

Step 1️⃣: Configure articles and barcodes

1. Navigate to Element Management.
2. Select or create an article.
3. Match the article number field with the article number on the barcode.
4. Optional: match the article name with the article name on the barcode.
5. Save the article.

📌 Tip: Use standardized names or numbers according to your internal use case.

Step 2️⃣: Navigate to Article Search mode

1. Navigate to the Article Search page
2. Select the working area you want to search the article
3. This can either be searching an article in a specific working area or within the whole account/ across all work stations
4. Make sure "Search and present article" is selected

📌 Tip: If the page "Article Search" is not visible in your navigation, make sure that your current user has the role & right "Barcode article search" assigned in the user management.

Step 3️⃣: How to find an article with a Barcode

1. Scan the article barcode using a connected scanner.
2. If no match is found you get the response "No articles/ places found"
3. If multiple matches are found, all of the found matches are presented in a list. You have to select manually, which one you want to see or presented.
4. If a single match has been found, the article is shown and details about its storage place are shown automatically.

📌 Tip: To avoid multiple matches, search for unique values (e.g. article number) and narrow down the area you are searching for (e.g. working area selection)

✅ Test Before Deployment – Verify scanner compatibility and scanning accuracy.
✅ Standardize Barcode Formats – Use EAN, QR Codes, or Data Matrix for consistency.
